A nostalgic Republic Day!!!!

T oday I woke up to the music of a patriotic song, the lyrics goes like 'Des rangeela rangeela...Des mera rangeela'. It was one of my favourite songs during my childhood, but I wondered who could be playing this song so early. My neighbours usually play songs in the morning but most of the time I could only hear the 'New Punjabi Songs' with weird lyrics and some songs from the recent hit movies, but today it was strange. A song from early 20's was playing and that too a patriotic song, I went to the gallery to check and found out that the music was coming from a school which is behind our society, and realized Republic Day is around the corner so young girls might be practicing to the music of 'Des Rangeela'. Well I could imagine the scenario in that school, some students might be rehearsing for their dance performance, some for singing performance and teachers all around there teaching them and getting along with students in the celebration of the 74th Repu...

I am just a HOUSE. Waiting to become a HOME AGAIN!!!!!

Today, I am nothing but just a roof with four walls, standing beside the river and waiting for it's members to come here and bring me back to life. There was a time, When I was also a HOME. Childrens ran all day within me and slept peacefully, listening to the stories of granny. The ladies cooked delicious food in my kitchen and the sweet aroma encircled in me, along with the wind. But after some years, They all left me.  As the world moved towards urbanization, they also drove to a far better place..and I was left here. I saw them going away from me, I saw them crying and I too cried with them. I wished, they would come back here some day, but they never did...and so I am waiting here. I am left here barren and untouched. Today, my walls are weaken and shaking, unable to stand strongly, to protect my family. M...

A Father's Waiting!!!

Everyone went and came back, But he never came back. In the verandah of the house, the old man was sitting with his stick and gazing at those who were coming back from the desert. The sky had turned red and the sun was going down to the horizon. The stars started twinkling on the sky. Everyone coming from the barren land, saw the old man sitting and gazing them with his questioning eyes...that asked only one question. Slowly the dusk was transformed into a dark night, everyone slept peacefully in their huts....but the old man kept on waiting...the moon and the stars were witness of his waiting...he kept on waiting and waiting for his beloved son, who went to the arid desert....and never came back!!!!!!
